The 180sx S13 has SR20s with red and black coloured tops. Both are the same - no VVT, and the plenum is upside down to the S14 and S15 'black-top' (and they've got T25 hybrids). Both are less tall and flatter topped than the S14/S15 engines too. My S15 engine has a black top - looks exactly the same as an s14 engine.

Not the whole rocker cover. I am not sure what makes it better performance however it is not turbo. From what I have seen Black does not mean turbo unless it is in the Silvia. Redtop engine is always turbo. IE SR20DET as used in the Pulsar GTi-R and, Bluebird SSS Attesa Limited. Red top in not always Turbo, but may be Turbo.
